Important Details About Camp Whittier

OAK TREES

Camp Whittier is located in the heart of an oak tree forrest across the road from Lake Cachuma.

CABIN CAMPING

All cabins are heated and are located near restrooms complete with showers and hot water.

NO SMOKING

If you are a smoker, you will have a designated place to smoke when you have arrived at Camp.

FIREPIT

There is a designated area to host a campfire which will be available at camp center.

HIKING TRAILS

There are a number of easy to moderate hiking trails available from camp to enjoy.

LAKE CACHUMA

Although not part of the event, there is a lake across the road if you like to fish.

Driving Directions from the Valley

  • Take 101 North towards Santa Barbara.
  • Once you have arrived in Santa barbara, continue 101 North and look for exit 101B – State Street, Lake Cachuma (exit right).
  • As you get to the end of the exit, there is a traffic light. You will proceed through the traffic light (road bends left). Look for the sign that confirms you are heading to the “San Marcos Pass” / Route 154.
  • You are now on “Calle Real” and will be making a right Turn onto the 154.
  • At the next traffic light, turn Right onto Hwy 154 (San Marcos Pass). You will now be heading up the mountain.
  • Once you have turned onto 154 San Marcos Pass, you are 20minutes from Camp.
  • The MLW Transportation Team will have clearly marked signs guiding you into Camp.
  • You will be turning Left into Camp.
  • Park as directed

Driving Directions from Yucaipa

  • Take 210 Fwy West.
  • Take 134 Fwy west.
  • Take 101 North towards Santa Barbara.
  • Once you have arrived in Santa barbara, continue 101 North and look for exit 101B – State Street, Lake Cachuma (exit right).

Time to Camp once you exit 101 North

20 min uphill

Once you exit Highway 101 North, please anticipate a 20min drive up the mountain prior to your Left hand turn into Camp Whittier. There will be plenty of signs posted to guide you in the right direction. Once on site, park as directed by the Transportation Team.
